Mucros Pottery

Did you know that for almost thirty years a unique range of hand-thrown pottery has been skilfully crafted by Margaret Phelan right here in Muckross? The designs of this pottery are inspired by the scenic beauty, rich history and culture of Ireland and the beautiful National Park which is home to Muckross. This pottery proudly carries the name 'Mucros', the Irish name for Muckross.

Every piece of our pottery is hand made in the Craft Centre; we even have a viewing gallery in our Craft Shop where you can watch as the pottery is made, from beginning to completion! The entire range of pottery is available in our Craft Shop, just upstairs from where its produced.

The distinctive honey and blue glazes have been the hallmark of our quality pottery for over ten years, and now a new range has been introduced for this year, the Sandstorm range. We will have pictures of this beautiful new range shortly; in the meantime here is some information on the classic blue and honey range which we still produce.

Molly, one of our horses on Muckross Traditional Farms, enjoying the sunshine!

Being a working farm, using only the traditional methods  of the 1930's and 1940's, horses such as Molly are hugely important in the running of the farm. We have many other animals which live on the farms and even a small Farm Animal Petting Area! Enjoying a visit is like taking a step back in time to the Ireland of old, an amazing experience, its really worth a trip!
